Well, on one hand, you are tormenting him a bit too much, making fun of his yandere-esque obsession with Presea... it is actually kind of sad to see my favorite character struggling to sacrifice ANYTHING for his sweetheart, yet all in vain...

But on the other hand, you are giving me some good inspiration for my "Tales of Symphonia/The Abyss" and "Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3/4" crossover fanfic, which I have yet to think the main plot of, and such...
But I have already thought about what would go on with his love life; ... with that being said, SPOILERS!!! (I guess)
-Genis becomes rather heartbroken that Presea has started her Romantic relationship with Regal. The mage eventually gets kidnapped, and sent to the obviously reappeared, but rather different TV world.
-There, Genis confronts his shadow, which represents his uncontrollable obsession with Presea, his extreme jealousy, the fact that he's mentally a fully grown adult trapped in a 12 year old kids body, and a hint of feeling discriminated. (Still needs a design, though...)
-After the shadow has been defeated, of course, Genis decides to accept his true self, and in turn receives his 1st tier Persona. I'm currently thinking about Amakusa Shiro, the teenage catholic samurai who was known for stirring an uprising against the Tokugawa shogunate, but unfortunately failed. So, I am guessing they both Genis and Shiro dealt with discrimination at a young age, and is still beloved after failure and death.
-He also states that just wanted Presea only as a friend anyway, thus accepting her and Regal's romantic relationship.
-As for his weapon of choice, he decides to demote his beloved kendama to a side arm, and instead wields two handguns to both cast spells and kill monsters, courtesy of Junpei. The kid is surprisingly very good at it as well, thanks to his kendama wielding days. (Lloyd relentlessly whined about that suggestion, stating that "Swords are still cooler...") This change in weaponry results in the mage becoming a bit more taller and muscular, around Ken's height. (Much to the Chagrin of Zelos and Yosuke)
-Much later on, we find out that Naoto has developed a crush on Genis, (Kanji has lost any romantic interest in her) and yes, they do become lovers, due to more than the fact they both share the "shorter means smarter" trope and they act way more mature than they should. Thus Genis receives his 2nd tier Persona, King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, the Lion of of the North... because, you know, Nordics and cats... ...
Anyway, I guess one could argue that this is indeed a crack pairing, but personally, IT'S JUST TO DAMN ADORABLE TO IGNORE, AGAINST ALL LOGIC. GeNao pairings work perfectly, and I give it the same standing as Gesea and KanNao! Don't judge me!
